FlipATicket.com today announced that it is leading the charge of brokers who have united and said, “Enough is enough!”. Over the course of the last several years, brokers have witnessed drastic changes the ticket industry has undergone; so drastic, in fact, that it is difficult to fully grasp.

Who could have imagined that all of those things would take place in five short years?

Producer Tony Brown says he's almost completed recording Lionel Richie's album of duets with country artists. So far done are "Stuck on You" (with Darius Rucker), "Sail On" (Tim McGraw), "Lady" (Kenny Rogers), "Easy" (Willie Nelson), "Deep River Woman" (Little Big Town), "You Are" (Blake Shelton) and "All Night Long" (Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band). Still to do are recordings with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland and the Zac Brown Band. "We're having a blast," Brown tells CMT.com. "Lionel is the coolest fun guy, and he's blown away by the musicians here." Brown estimates the album will be out this summer.

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce the second performance slated for Summerfest 2011. Katy Perry will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Thursday, July 7 at 7:30PM. An opening act will be announced at a later date.
Katy Perry sang in her local church as a child and began to pursue her career in music during high school. In 2007 she signed with her current label and rose to fame with the release of her second single “I Kissed a Girl” in 2008. Her first studio album One of the Boys followed later that year and also produced the singles “Hot n Cold” and “Waking Up in Vegas.” Perry’s sophomore album, Teenage Dream, was released in August 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200. The album includes hit singles “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream” and “Firework”, all of which have topped the charts on the Billboard Hot 100 and worldwide.
Perry is known for her unconventional clothing style, incorporating bright colors and patterns as well as fruit and dessert accessories into her outfits. Chris Cornell will embark on his first-ever solo acoustic “Songbook” tour.
This Spring, Chris Cornell will embark on his first-ever solo acoustic “Songbook” tour. Running from April through May 2011, it will spotlight songs from throughout his illustrious career, as well as a few surprise covers.
Back in December 2009, Cornell played his first acoustic “Songbook” show in Los Angeles at the Hotel Cafe to overwhelming response - the show sold out instantly. A second performance soon followed at the city's famous Troubadour.
Now, live audiences across the US & Canada will also have the chance to see Chris perform unplugged, up close and personal - an event many fans have been eagerly anticipating for years. Within this alternative setting, Cornell can easily interact with the audience and share insights about his music. Familiar songs emerge in a new context, showing that great songwriting translates to any idiom.

The Pixies announce “Doolittle Tour” to 13 Canadian cities this Spring. The tour will kick off April 9 at the Metro Center in Halifax and work its way across to Western Canada, ending in Vancouver on May 3. This will be the Pixies’ most extensive tour of the provinces, and will see the band visiting several Canadian cities for the very first time. In addition, the tour will make stops at three U.S. cities.

The Hold Steady - New Tour Dates Announced
The Hold Steady, who released the "vital piece of wizened wisdom" (Village Voice) 'Heaven Is Whenever' (Vagrant) last year, kick off 2011 with the release of the stripped down 'Live at Soho' iTunes session, a new song on the soundtrack for the Universal Pictures comedy "The Dilemma," and announce a handful of US tour dates, including three upcoming NYC shows.
The band will play two SOLD OUT shows at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, January 30 and 31, as well as an April 8 show at Terminal 5. In between the Music Hall of Williamsburg shows and the Terminal 5 date, the band will head out on extensive UK and Australian tours, and also play a show April 2 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH.
The iTunes 'Live at Soho' session was recorded last year, the night after a triumphant, sold-out show at New York's famed Beacon Theatre, and features stripped down, acoustic takes on songs from The Hold Steady's increasingly deep catalogue. For 'The Dilemma- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack,' out now, the band wrote new song "Just Saying" specifically for the film.
