Punk and Cowboys don’t seem like natural bedfellows but Bowling for Soup exemplify just that. Except they’re not cowboys, they’re just from Texas, but it’s close enough. The Nu-Punk Texans have announced that they are unplugging their instruments and doing it like it was 1855, with an acoustic tour.
Bowling for Soup released an acoustic album, 'Jaret & Erik 2010 UK Acoustic Tour Limited Edition CD', during Reddick and Chandler's acoustic tour in the UK earlier this year. The album was released after the tour on the band's online UK and US stores. Reddick has also stated that an acoustic album is very possibly for this upcoming acoustic tour. The band have announced that they expect the next album to be released in Spring 2011.
Jaret's Reddick’s animated stage presence and sense of humour have helped their popularity, as have a series of comedy covers ranging from Brian Adams to Nelly. Here’s a fact for fact-fans: the band get their name from a Steve Martin routine. Fact over.
