CBS Radio's "Radio.com" offers free iPhone access and new sponsorships

The new iPhone app radio.com - CBS Interactive Music Group features over 200 CBS radio stations that stream, plus their custom channels. The app also updates the existing iPhone apps for AOL Radio and Yahoo! Music that are powered by CBS Radio.

Background streaming is now possible, and stations and songs can be tagged as "favorites", for subsequent visits and song purchasing. The app lets users share favorite stations through email, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking utilities. On the revenue side, the company says it is now in an position to offer new advertiser opportunities that will be served on all its iPhone applications, from full-screen ad units to banners on the "now playing" display, with the message "tailored to station, genre or location."
