"Country Song" got it's name from the swampy verse riff, and we grew comfortable with that, so we kept the name. It's basically a feel good song, musically, with a lyrical contrast dealing with the realization that a relationship has reached it's conclusion. That relationship doesn't have to be with a lover - it can encompass all relationships from siblings and parents, to friends, and even drugs. In some ways I guess I was dealing with growing up and having to make better life choices. It's definitely not country, but we recorded the album in Nashville, and felt like it was a small homage to such a wonderful city.
