he festival will take place over a three-day period at Hampton Coliseum on June 24, 25, 26 and will feature some of the greatest names in R&B, Soul and Smooth Jazz.
Friday’s lineup features two newcomers to the HJF. Fans are sure to be thrilled by superstar, Anthony Hamilton, and the many hits of Boyz II Men, whose breakout album in 1995 made them the biggest selling R&B group of all time. Joining them will be the legendary Chaka Khan and smooth jazz superstar Boney James.
Saturday’s show will once again feature one of the greatest live performers, Charlie Wilson, who followed up his #1 hit “There Goes My Baby,” with another #1 hit “You Are.” Neo-R&B stars, KEM and Chrisette Michelle, will be sure to wow the HJF audience. While guitarist, Jonathan Butler, has appeared many times on the Hampton Jazz Festival stage, his two partners, Eric Darius and Maysa, will be making their Festival debut.
Sunday’s headliner is Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. The surest way to rock out the Festival is to put Frankie on and we know that Festival fans won’t be disappointed. Appearing with Frankie will be Festival favorite, Stephanie Mills, and smooth jazz sensation David Sanborn with George Duke and Marcus Miller. Making her first Festival appearance will be new singing sensation Laura Izibor
