Metrodome Home Of The Minnesota Vikings has collapsed under the weight of snow

The inflatable Teflon roof of the Metrodome has collapsed under the weight of snow after a heavy storm passed through Saturday.

The executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, Bill Lester, said Sunday morning that the stadium is unlikely to be ready in time for kickoff on Monday night.

Monday's game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings was already postponed from Sunday after the Giants' flight was diverted Saturday to Kansas City as area air travel was shut down.

Lester said the dome suffered damage to two of its triangle-shaped Teflon panels and that his crew is still assessing the situation.
