Both synthpop and new jack swing are two styles of music that have had their fair share of critics over the years, which is why it's slightly strange for Krystal Klear and OMD to arrive at a reworked "History Of Modern (Part 1)" in a 2011 that deems them both critical successes. The former is the up-and-comer: Dublin-raised Dec Lennon turning the latter's synthpop into house music charged with the glad-eyed new jack synths he holds so dearly to his chest; his version a warm and optimistic saunter through weekend delirium.
